Introduction ‐ who is Paola and what does she do?
What does all the stuff they put on the egg carton mean?

So, you want to keep backyard chickens?
o What breed(s) should I select?
o How many males/females do I need for breeding and egg production?
o How to look after chicks
o How many eggs do I need per week?
o What should I feed them and what should we NOT feed them?
o Stationary or movable coup?
o Caring for them in extreme heat and cold
o How much space needed to roam/how noisy/smelly are they and where to put them?
o How do I deter/control mice and predators getting in?

Dress warmly, appropriate for cold and/or wet weather with sturdy footwear

What to bring:
Please bring a healthy plate to share over the lunch break
Please bring a folding chair to sit on during lunch
