CoVision Fishing Weekend Workshop

Please Note: You will need to obtain (at a minimum); a 3-day Victorian Fishing Licence at a cost of $10.00 (3-days), please ensure you bring your Fishing License to the event. Licences can be obtained through the following link: https://vfa.vic.gov.au/recreational-fishing/fishing-licence 

You will not need a licence to fish if you are:

• under 18 years of age;
• 70 years of age or over;.

or a holder of a:

• Victorian Seniors Card or interstate equivalent;
• Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Card;
• Department of Veterans' Affairs Gold Card coded (TPI)
• Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card coded either (DSP), (DSP Blind), (AGE), (AGE Blind) or (CAR)

or:

• A person that identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

Ordinary HealthCare Card, PPS (Parenting Payment Single) and JobSeeker payment cards, Seniors Business Discount Cards issued by the Victorian government and DVA White and Orange Cards are not exempt from purchasing a Fishing Licence.

Workshop Description & Agenda: 

Locations: venues, fishing and dinner maps and location sent by email after registration

Day 1 Saturday Fresh Water Fishing:

Slide presentation by instructor Ron at 9am at - Geelong Anglers Club (you will be provided with address by email)

Everybody to set up their fishing rod rig with hooks, sinkers, leaders

Go to fishing location at 10.30am - West Fyans St Boat Ramp

Gutting, scaling, filleting lesson with catches 3 pm

Optional CoVision dinner: Grovedale Hotel (at your own cost) 6 pm

Michael will talk about his tuna fishing adventures 7.30pm

Lisa will talk about joining angling clubs

Day 2 Sunday Salt Water Fishing:

Slide presentation by instructor Ron at Bellarine Pirates Club 9 am

Go to fishing location - Cunningham Pier 10.30 am

Gutting, scaling, filleting lesson with catches 3 pm

Fishing Feedback Session, Q&A’s

Optional Fish Cook Up, on location, weather permitting CoVision will provide bread and salad 4pm

Date and Time: 

Saturday July 1st, 2023 - 09.00am – 3.00pm - Later if you choose to join us for dinner and entertainment

Sunday July 2nd, 2023 - 09.00am – 4.00pm - Later if you choose to join us for a cook up of the catches!

Dress Code: 

Dress warmly, appropriate for cold and/or wet weather

Max number of Participants: 

35 - (If you miss out on a place for this event, due to all tickets being sold; please contact lisa@covision.com.au and let her know of your interest in attending future events of this nature)

What to bring both days: 

Packed lunch 

Folding Chair

Bucket for caught fish

Esky to keep your fish fresh

Water bottle for your own use

Fishing rod and gear if you have it, if not, this is included in the full price

Your Fishing Licence

Price: 

$80 per single ticket - Includes 2-day rod hire, bait, sinkers, hooks and tackle requirements. 

$70 per single ticket - Bring your own rod and fishing line - the other items will be supplied.

$120 per couples ticket - Includes 2-day rod hire, bait, sinkers, hooks and tackle requirements.

$150 per family ticket - Includes 2-day rod hire, bait, sinkers, hooks and tackle requirements.

NB. If you have already purchased a single ticket, and would like to upgrade to a couples or family ticket; please email lisa@covision.com.au and we will make off-line arrangements for this.

Age Suitability

Suitable for ages 10+ years (you will need to discern your child's capacity and endurance for this event)
